Default I want the diffs to stay locked above 18mph...

Okay, I know that Audi put this safeguard for a reason, but I really want to be able to have the rear locked after 18mph. Sure, I will use common sense and not rip for long periods of time on dry.

Now on the small chassis cars with the electronic switch there is a wire that can be snipped to allow for the diffs to locked at whatever speed. Is there such a wire on the urS cars?

I have searched around to no success.

Thanks folks.
Hank

Default Sure he might. Driving stoplight to stoplight where you just get above 20, then

have to stop again is a PITA with that speed sensor.

But no, there is no wire to clip, nor a resistor to drop on a wire. STFA, KDay explains it.

I think it is an air activated lock, like the doors. but you definitely dont want to do that.

Why do you need the diff locked in that situation?

Default You are full of it. :) Are you saying that diffs locked above 20mph = a broken rear diff?

I dont believe it. I understand that the c4 is a heavy car, but I think wheel hop is going to happen far before a rear diff is going to sheer.

I am not talking about running a few hundred miles with the diffs locked on the interstate at 85mph. I am talking about wanting to be able to have predictable power at over 20 mph in the snow, and in agressive driving situations..
