Looking to upgrade but don't want an unlivable ride, plus I know lots of you guys run this setup so I thought I would ask. I didn't find what I was looking for with the search.

Default I am very happy with my Bilstein HD/H&R Sport combo

The ride is definately tighter and stiffer but not uncomfortably so. And the ride height differance is just perfect for me.

Last year I put a set of Vogtland sport springs and Bilstein sport shocks on a 98 A4 and I felt that ride was too stiff for my tastes..... take that for what it is worth but for sure the setup on my S4 is softer.

I had Bilstein Sports with Eibach springs on my 95 S6. This is a non-tracked car. The ride was very harsh - as if I had 100 psi in the tires. I removed the Bilsteins after about 1500 miles and installed the OE shocks and struts. Ride with OE shocks/struts and the Eibachs is wonderful.

Default This is not the first time i've heard of this setup

but I would think the OE shocks could not control the stiffness of the eibach - which is obviously stiffer than the OE springs.

So you don't bottom out at all?

I THINK(!) the Eibachs are not much stiffer than the OE springs - just lower - and the OE shocks/struts control them adequately. In any case, I do not bottom and the car is very comfortable.

Default Bilsteins designed to match OEM springs

For this exact reason I had my Bilsteins re-valved to match H&R's

Now it's stiff, but good. Balanced. There is no "kick" on rebound.
