Default How about this? Driving down the road, Everything shuts down Suddenly, Car Will Not Crank Again, but

accesories work?

Is it a faulty ignition switch?

No Crank Is the Symptom.

and I was so enthused to enjoy our First New England Noreaster, too. Had to take the train to Boston instead today...

Default That, or your alternator is shot.

Ignition system needs about 9.5 volts to operate. Under that, the battery voltage is not enough to sustain the car to keep running, but some accessories may work still. Take a multimeter and check battery voltage even at the jump location under the hood. If you're under 12.3-12.5, then that's probably your culprit. If you're fine, then I think you might be on the right track with a switch.

Oh, and um...but "not crank" you don't mean, locked up, like you hear a massive click from the starter...like...you broke your timing belt and mashed valves into the pistons into the head "not crank"....I hope?

Default switch or alternator.

Check battery voltage as a quick test. Alternator on these cars usually is as easy as swapping out the voltage regulator. Stator and other parts in there rarely go bad.

Yea but, if I'm under that voltage, I should at least hear the Starter Spin, Shouldn't I?

Default 2nd

Does the dash light up normally? When my switch was going bad it would sometimes crank and sometimes not. Every time I would turn the key the accessories would come on, but when it wouldn't crank the dash didn't light up. When the dash lit up it would crank.
