Default HID Relaying question - where are people wiring up to +ve?

fuse box?
+ve jumper terminal?
alternator?

I'm going to slap the harness in this weekend and was wondering what the 'preferred' locations may be. I bought the DDM 55w kit and got their harness with it. Of course I installed the lights a month ago and have had no issues until 2 days ago when the relay behind the kick-panel (opened this up and found no signs of burning/cooking inside) started clicking furiously and the lights (lows only, fogs remained and brights still worked) would go out. Seemed at first that there was a correlation to temperature and they'd fire up in the morning, now not at all. They do run fine as the daytimes, only when I turn the lights on at the stalk does the relay start to go. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Erik

You don,t need to relay them. They have less draw than regular lights.

Default To the +ve jumper terminal. Unscrew it with a deep socket and use a large ring terminal.

Remeber to disconnect the battery first, or be very careful.

If you don't relay it, it will cut the stereo out on start-up.

Default That hasn't happened to me.

My HIDs are straight through the switch.

Default I do hear a 'pop' in the stereo when I flick the switch, no cut-out issues though.

I'd rather not stress the system if I don't have to... besides I bought the harness, but installed the lights on a windy -25C day so the harness was out of the question. Since it hadn't posed any issues until recently I was going to wait a while longer...

thanks for the reply
