Help! Wife put in 87 octane gas yesterday and...
The S6 ran poorly last night with very little boost. Started this AM ran for 1/2 mile sputtered and stalled. This is when she realizied that reg gas was used. The car will start but just sputter and stall. I thought it would run with reg gas and retard timing. Could the reg gas do this? No time to pull codes til tonight.
thanks,
Dave

Regular as in leaded? Or as in 87 unleaded?
If it's leaded, pumping it out may be the best idea.
Otherwise, find a 76, Sunoco, or Mobil and get a few gallons of 104 or 101.
You could drop by Home Depot and get some Toluene as well.

A buddy did that unwittingly in my 200 20v this Spring.
I just drove it REALLY gingerly until the tank was gone, with no probs. I guess the AAN reacts a bit differently with the coil packs and all.
Do you have access to 100 or 104? Mix some in, and jump up and down like a madman on the rear bumper(with a towel under your shoes, of course).
Doesn't mix real well in the first place, but it helped in my car.
