Has Anyone Actually Succesfully Installed 5" or 6" door speakers in factory location? Any Pics?
I search the forums and no infowas found as for the required modifications needed to the doors or panel or both. Pics would be helpful.

5 1/4" fits behind stock front door grille.
deleted the bose enclosure and mounted driver to a custom baffle
(3/4" baffle is just adhered to the door trim and driver is mounted behind it). sorry no pics. the driver is a boston proseries 5.4 in case you want to compare its depth to what you might use.
i have seen a couple of 6 1/2" installations (adriano posted one last week), but then you're talking fiberglass fabrication. I can send you photos of those, e-mail me and i'll dig them up.

Custom speaker pod for front door.

I installed my old school A/D/S 4" coax in the factory 4" bose location and A/D/S 6.5" in custom door pods. Any decent custom sound shop can make these. I'm shooting an 8" SoloBarik sealed sub through the sky sack and everything is powered with a Memphis Belle hung upside down on the hat shelf.
Down side is you can't open the glove box with the door closed.
