Default godamnit!!!!! thought i would have it good for a while!!!

ok, so obviously this car wants to prevent me from thinking i have the best of it!!! i fix the misfire, replace the O2 and t-stat over the weekend and the car works beautifully....untill lunch today.

now i have no heat. the vents are blowing nothing but cold air but the gauge and the CC unit are telling me the car gets up to temp quite happily.

from searching the archives all fingers point to the flapper motor in the engine compartment. do you have any other suggestions? keep in mind the car worked perfectly on the way to the office this morning. i guess i should be happy that it's getting warm here!

thanks

Default Its either that flap motor, or the heater core is completely blocked...

You should get a fault code that you can read on the climate control if it is the temp control flap motor in the accessable through the engine bay.

Default blocked core? had great heat this morning (REALLY hoping it's not that!)...

forgot to mention, i looked at the CC codes when i got the car in the summer and a flapper motor code popped up but i had NO idea what it meant (couldn't find the reference in my bently) i guess this could be it.....

at any rate, will check the codes when i get out of the office today.

very unlikely then, unless you have chunks of mud in your cooling system.

Default Sounds like the temp flap motor is starting to go

Mine did the same thing. Sometimes it would get stuck on full heat and other times full cold and sometimes it would work fine. It finally gave it up stuck on full cold so I replaced it at the beginning of winter.

Check the codes!
