Dave, guys...

I noticed on Friday a very faint odor of coolant when the heater was on and I checked my coolant reservoir and noticed that the coolant level was down just a tiny bit.

Now the heater core was swapped out about 25k back and I'd like to assume that the heater core is not the issue. They did the hoses at the same time so...

A brief look over the engine compartment shows no sign of coolant leaks and the coolant tank looks to be sound.

Where would you start looking if this was you? I'm out of town so I don't have my shop manuals with me and I've never personally had to get at the heater core so keep that in mind.

Sorry but just because the heater core was changed about 25K (at 1600 mi/month =15.6 months) ago, it doesn't rule out a leaking core. People who go with cheap aftermarket cores have found out that they can leak in just a few months in some cases. You need to buy an OE core the next time round.

It was an OE core. It was done by the dealer.
