Engine bay complete.....

Finally finished spiffing up my engine bay. Now, we will see if it stays this clean on this daily driver. Also, I will give half of my Powerball winnings to the person who can tell me how the @#*& to make this picture the correct size. (Just kidding about that Powerball thing, but this is driving me crazy)

Nice! I'm doing some engine detail myself, a bit different than yours :)
I'll post pics once done, I'm about halfway done with the polishing, done with the color matching

What is the build date of your car? The AirCon condenser tells me it is a 92 model year....
...and the strut tower bar tells me it was build in April through June of 92. However, I am confused that you do not have the intense window cleaning fluid reservoir in/near the passenger side cowl that the 92 spec cars have. If this is a clue that the car is a 93 model year, then the older R12 AirCon condenser(rather than the R134 style condenser) makes me guess very early in the 93 model year run, i.e. either Aug. or Sept. 93. I could figure it out better if I could see the whole car.
Suggestions on the detailing: Take the paint off and polish the "20V turbo" letters on the coil pack cover and buy a new MAF cover and paint the OOOO rings silver. (Or not).

I will check that build date. I did not know there were differences in the A/C systems. You seem to hava a keen eye for this stuff. All I know right now is that the leather and carbon fiber is in excellent shape, but the clear coat is screwed. Some foolish person must have never waxed it. I plan on having it professionally painted (about $4,000) to bring it back up near showroom condition. Thank you for the detailing suggestions. I was kind of kicking around the idea of removing the paint from the raised portions of the coil pack cover.(By the way, what a PIA that is to remove and correctly re-install)

Re: wow, I am surprised u didnt have any references to different magazine issues ;-)
I am relatively new to this forum, but what do you mean by your comment? By the way, nice picture of your 90S.

Hey, Xel. Maybe if you would take your eyes off your camera viewfinder you would....
be able to actually see something and learn. I don't need magazines to tell me about S-cars. We have about 16 members in our local club (which I try to organize). These cars span the wide range of build dates - from 91 (Iskolnick's car) to quattro20v's 96 S6. I also check out every S-car that I can find on the dealer's lots in Vancouver and Edmonton, Calgary and Regina when I travel. I also have S-car contacts in Edmonton, Calgary and Regina and have either driven their cars or have seen photo's of them. I have a mental data base of the differences (sometimes very subtle) between the model years and between build dates during a given model year. This doesn't come from magazines. It comes from experience. You can't get that looking through a viewfinder.
I do need magazines to give me information about S-cars that we never got in North America, i.e. the S6+, the S2 coupe and the RS2 wagon. To get that and other S-car information, I have gathered over 30 magazines and/or brochures from North America, South Africa, Europe, Australia and England. That's called obsession (or passion).
Between what I have personnally seen or have in my files, I have a lot of S-car trivia knowledge. Sometimes, (surprize, surprize) it is even useful to others. So back off the "magazine racer" joke, dump the 90S, buy an S-car and learn.
By the way, for the most part, I do like your video work (the night drive one was too dark).

If your car has carbon fibre trim and it is original (not swapped in), then the car is....
a 93 model year (they had elm wood trim in 92 and then went to walnut in 94 and beyond). A 93 car fits with the strut tower brace (added to the 92's late in the model run) and the lack of the intensive windshield washer reservoir (only on the 92 model year cars). The "problem" is your air conditioning condensor. I have never seen that style on a 93 model year car. If it is original (and not something swapped in after a front end collision) then I have to guess that your car was built in August or maybe September 92 and they were using up the remaining old design condensors. My 10/92 build date 93 has a different style of A/C condensor that remained pretty much the same until the end of the S-car run in the 97 model year. The build date should be on a sticker on the driver side door post.
PS - Xel's friendly jibe about the magazines was related to his suggestion that I am only a "magazine racer". Not so, but that is another story.
