Default Colorado drivers: What is your oil temp going over the passes?

Going from Boulder to Vail and my oil temp ALWAYS is at 12 noon (just over the 130 degree celcius line). It is impossible to keep off the throttle as well once you start the journey up from Golden as well...

Anyone have this same issue or is it just me?

Default

I have the same issue, and have thought about bumping up to a larger cooler.

Default Mine goes just a little above first line (95'C?). I have rarely seen mine get up to noon. Unless

It is really hot out.

Default I got a crazy quote from 2Bennett of ~ $600 for an upgraded oil cooler

don't know of anyone else who makes a kit though... but it can't be good for the engine

glad someone else is in my same boat with this!

Default Yeah, unfortuneatly it is impossible to stay out of the throttle going

up the passes and it just cooks the oil.

I was thinking about possibly doing a B&M. I thought someone on this board did that.

Default Marc Swanson has fabbed up a pretty sweet oil cooler...

his came in under $200 I believe...I just don't have the fab skills he does.

Maybe EFI Express feels like doing a kit........hmmmmmmm?

I'm not exactly going the speed limit, but I'm not holding it at the redline either.

Default I was there until I put on the larger cooler, now I'm a shade over the 1st line pushing hard.

up I-70. Every 5 banger I've owned (NA and turbo) had very high temps on that hill FWIW Brian, it's a killer grade as you know. My '89 100S used to hit 130c like clock work..

Default Hey Jeff, can you

shoot me off an e-mail with the new specs on your oil cooler? Like, you know what...(if you don't mind)...
