Default Carbon Fiber Hood group buy

Would anyone be interested in a Carbon Fiber hood group buy for the Urs4(unless they're already available, if so please tell me where). I would need atleast 15 people. The purpose of the group buy is to justify getting the mold created as opposed to getting discount prices. The hoods would be atleast 900$ each as far as I know but this would still be cheaper that the 1200$ that they first quoted to me (without the mold cost of course). They would be made in Benicia California and to full race car specs. The company does custom carbon fiber for various racing applications as opposed to hondas that never see over 200 HP. They are pressed and heated in an autoclave unlike the garbage thats made in china and sells for 500$ that you see nowadays. I have only spoken with them over the phone but I will be heading over to their shop to show them my car and check out their operation. I'll keep y'all posted and please respond with any valuable feedback as I know this has been attempted before.
Trunk lids possible as well.

PS. Maybe I can talk 034 into getting the mold made because I know they would sell a bunch of these hoods. I'm going to call Dan and bug him now.

Though very dated, check out this link, maybe they have a mold already?

There were a few of the CF hoods and the trunks made. I have seen one. I was told that it needed a Sh*t load of work to make it work properly.

I was told that the trunk was even worse.

Good luck. Maybe find a different supplier than that GB.

The C4 is not a race car, or at least the vast majority of them aren't. No offense, but there are a looootttttt of places I'd spend $900 on and get real benefit from before I seriously considered a CF hood, especially since I'd have to worry about some type of hood pins which would add at least $100 and some significant and irreversible changes to the front end.

Default The CF hoods from the GB were not perfect but they could be mounted without pins

This is on Chris Myer's 94 UrS (the drag race car). It took Chris a lot of work to make the hood fit properly, IIRC.

I'm aware that it's possible to mount those specific hoods without pins, but I personally wouldn't drive a car with a FRP hood (at least not above parking lot speeds) without some type of hood pin setup.

There was a great horror show thread somewhere with an unfortunate S4 that had the "built in factory" latches (both levels) fail at speed. The passenger got a concussion and needed a bunch of stitches when the hood came through the windshield and they both hit him in the face IIRC. The only thing that saved the driver was the steering wheel took a lot of the hit.

Not good.
