Default California Adventure: 1995.5 Audi UrS6 Europa Blue/Ecru 160k I picked up last weekend...

A buddy and myself flew down at 11.30am on saturday to LAX to meet the owner of the car, at the airport, made our transaction and hit the road. I had made plans to stop by 034EFI in Fremont, CA to attend their dyno day and get a good baseline and an idea of the MTM Stage 1+ Chip in the car vs. 034's Stage 1 chip which they had an ECU ready to go to compare when I got there. I then had a stop planned in Rancho Cordova, CA to pickup a drivers seat as well that evening after the dyno day. First impressions of the car were very rough, the paint looked like it hadnt seen wax in the past 5 years and the cars paint was in what I consider pretty rough shape when I picked it up.

Finally got the S6 pulled up on the dyno:

Interesting results with the 94 Octane MTM Chip running crappy 91 CA gas showed detonation and whatnot which caused us to stop dynoing with that chipset in.

From Nate at 034 after the dyno:
"Just a recap of what we were seeing, the chipset in your car has a
pretty wide AFR range through the pull, from ~15:1 at the low end at
19lbs of boost, to the high 10's, then back up to ~11ish up top. Also,
based on the power it's making it's running a bunch more timing, which
is nice, when the motor's not detonating. As you can see there's less
boost and more power. However, with this as you run the risk of knock as
seen mid-pull with loss of power/timing pullback. Plus possible engine
damage if one were to consistently stay in the power under those conditions.

So, like I mentioned earlier, our chipset wasn't designed to be the most
aggressive, most power possible on the stock parts. Just designed to
work safely in a street driven car, and in the end is nearly as powerful
it seems as a ragged edge tune."

Video of Duty cycle on MTM Chip can be seen here:

So we successfully did the dyno pulls and left with the knowledge of how dangerous this chip might be so I kept off the throttle almost entirely and tried as best as we could to stay off the car on the rest of the drive home or atleast til I could get some 92 Octane in it and add some race fuel...

Outside of Corvalis, OR we needed to pass and low and behold, the boost hose blew. I knew exactly what had happened and all I needed was a screwdriver. Ended up leaving us stranded for about 3.5 hours til my sister in law brought a screwdriver. The tool kit was missing it and I hadnt thought to buy any tools as the car was running so smoothly ;-)

<img src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a209/blakeskate05/YE3X0669.jpg">

Then we got back on the road and just inside washington, we stopped to get gas and noticed a nemo balloon and took this in dedication to the mysteriously smaller side mirrors on most 95.5 UrS6's deemed the "Nemo Mirror"

Ended up going from Warm sunny LAX, to throughout California scattered rain showers to being greeted with snow when we got home Sunday at 1pm :-)

Nice ride! You could have used a penny or dime to unscrew the hose.

Default Believe it or not, didnt have a dime, but a penny was too big :-/

I tried everything I possibly could until the screwdriver arrived from Salem. Not even the cop who stopped had anything that helped...
