Boost Problem Cont'd; not vacuum hose or bypass vlv
Any ideas what the next most-likely culprit might be? I have the IA stage III+ chip, normally see blistering boost, up to 23-24 psi. Now, starting at about 7-10 psi, it's like I'm hitting a speed limiter, shuttering while accelerating under full throttle. I can drive it gingerly without problems, so long as I don't lug it.
I inspected the vacuum hose (broke both plastic screws on the cover while doing it, of course), nothing glaring. I also replaced with the new Bosch unit the bypass valve. No improvement.
What might the next culprit be? My mechanic wants to take apart the intake and run a smoke machine to see where it might be exiting.
Any thoughts appreciated; tired of having to watch low rider honda-***-coffee-can-exhaust, baggy pants-wearing, peach-fuzz-mustache-having, crew cut punks dust me on the road!

Wouldn't that effect accross-the-board performance...
and not just upper pressure performance? This seems to happen only above 5 psi. I would think (and I don't know) that the oxygen sensor would trigger the OXS light and would show signs at all RPMs and pressures (??).
I think it was replaced about a year ago, but I just bought it and will check. If you can verify that the oxygen sensor would show these signs, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Robert

Have your mechanic STOP IMMEDIATELY what he's assuming
and have him pull the fault codes before going any further. Maybe you have a boost leak but IMHO not, Cpayne experienced similar issues and in his case it was a faulty knock sensor...

normally, but
there is no OXS light but there would be a code stored. Also the ECU does not normally know the O2 sensor is not working properly until it stops working all together. Could also be a severly clogged air filter. Pull codes and see what you find. There are many possible causes.
