Default Big Snows

Anyone ever run 225/55/16 snows successfully? I just got some Blizzaks in that size, but they appear to be freakin' huge. I'm worried about clearance with any snow pack in the wheel wells. Other experiences?

I've run Nokian Hakkapeliitta 215/55/16s, Goodyears 225/55/17s, Dunlops 225/50/16s, all on lowered cars with no problems. Snow pack is about the same regardless. Last year the snow bank was 10 feet high at the end of our driveway. Snowbelt wonderland. You should be fine.

225/50/16 Toyo Garit KX here... 3rd season and loving them. I'd think that a small change in tire size isn't going to appreciably affect how much snow gets caked in the wells. So long as they don't rub when there isn't any snow there isn't much else you can do about it!

And the Hakkas were by FAR the best.

I am running 255/45/17's Dunlop Wintersport M3's and they do pretty well. I think it is the extra weight of these cars that makes it work.

I run Blizzak 245/40 17s out in Colorado and they seem to do fine.

Haha....been out of town for the past few weeks and totally spaced that one. I've still yet to see any check engine lights or encounter any symptoms. I picked up the car, turned it on, and to my delight -- no light, no problems, nothing. The invoice stated that the crank position sensor fault was thrown, along with the faulty ECU fault (not cam position as I originally thought). I'm still not exactly sure what's going on, but for the time being the car has no problems (other than the dreaded suspension squack over bumps that can't be fixed for some reason). I might be taking the car down to Dave Jones at S-Line down the road....heard that guy is second to none when it comes to UrS cars.
