Default From memory, it involves a zip lock bag, ...

and isopropyl alcohol (about half the bag or to cover the MAF), letting the MAF soak for a bit and then, swishing, turning, marinating, basting (kidding) and then taking the MAF out and air drying over night. I don't think you are supposed to touch the MAF wire at any point in the process (Screws it up).

Maybe somebody else remembers as link to something. Maybe something at Scott Mockery's site.???

Default You don't need to...

The MAF's wire is automatically cleaned by the ECU after you shut the engine, and this is the reason why you shouldn't unplug the ECU less than 30 seconds after the engine has been shut...

You can try to spray the wire with carb cleaner if you think it's dirty but if you just mean to do this as "preventative maintenance", just don't do it if you have no bad MAF fault codes.

Unless you've terribly over oiled your K&N filter and it has gummed up the MAF wire. ;&gt
