Default Had a Caddy (Rabbit pickup) with a 1.8 16V, and now the Rallye

You can do a lot of things to an UrS, but you can't add lightness ;-)

Default I grew up around VWs

My best friend's parents had a Vanagon Westphailia, and a 1990 Corrado G60 that ended up becoming his and was a blast to drive! Another friend currently has a G60 with a Stg 4 charger, BBS RXs, and other goodies.

In high school I had an 85 Scirocco with a 2.0 3A (Audi 80 8v) block, JH Head, G-Grind Cam, 13:1 compression, Techtonics dual downpipe and exhaust, coilovers, and a Solo 1 legal rollbar/half-cage. It was built by a local autocross guru (Geoff Zimmer). I shouldn't have sold it...

Anyway, I just picked up an 84 GTI that's a former ITB race car. It no longer has a race-worthy suspension but everything else is ready. Fresh rebuild on the JH, G-Grind, poly everything, totally stripped, full Kirk Racing cage, etc, etc. I'm not going to roadrace it any time soon (too much $$$), just autocrosses and HPDE. It's so nice to have a Dub around again!

Default Picked up a 79 Westy at an LA Copart auction last May

It had an engine fire and needs to be restored but I am doing pretty good on it. I am trying to do the labor intensive cheap stuff first. and there is lots of it to do.
Hopefully I will have it done before next summer so I can use it for some adventures. I also had a 1971 bus back in 1977 and a 1974 Westy back in about 1990. I had one other, it was a 1982 Vanagon with an 85 GTI 1800 in it. If it had been a camper I probably would of still had it, awesome van.

Default I think I have had 8

1959, 67, 71 Beetles. The 71 I did a Baja conversion on. It was my first car and likely the most fun I ever had driving

1981 Rabbit, nothing special

1984 and 86 Jettas. The 84 was a GLI and had old school Recaros. Loved them. The 86 was a 5spd gas that 486k on it when I sold it.

1991 Passat 16v. Piece of trash.

Currently the 93 Golf 1.8 Gutless, dirty, loud. I keep hoping for what is left of the exhaust to fall off so it'll just be leaking and not rattling anymore. Still though I drive 100km a day over pretty crappy roads and it seems to accept it ok. This winter will interesting. I'm knocking antennas off ants with this car and once the snow falls I think the Golf will be grounded.

Default Hehehe, I think that was a 60/40 drop kit I put on it, but I can't quite remember.

Check out Air Riders if you need any bits (winter rubber, stock suspension, etc) for her. I'm going down to Calgary later today too... so if you need me to pick anything up off of a ClubVeeDub member, just call or text me and I'll bring it back for you to grab on Sunday.

Cheers,
