Default Roof rails removal

Does anyone know or have experience on removing "roof rails" AFTER taking delivery? Can this be done?

no experience, but there would be mounting holes on the roof. The SB looks great with Black Optics and roof rails- not an option in the US.

This has been explored with this and other cars and the short answer is Yes it's possible but it's not easy or cheap. Modifying factory racks or rails isn't really supported by a robust aftermarket other than Jeep and a few other brands.

I suppose you have to take down the inner roof liner from inside the cabin to access the screws or rivets . I can’t think of any reason to place after market stuff on already beautiful metal roof rail. Remember Audi has done outstanding engineering studying aerodynamic on this car and installing aftermarket rails or carriage will affect range. I was looking at the underbottom of the car while on a lift there are certain aerodynamic lines made under the car which shows lot of thought process during car designing.

How funny. The reason I haven't purchased the e-tron Sportback is that in the US you can't get roof rails. I really want them! Turns out customers want yes AND no options to roof rails.

Thanks to all for the responses. I guess the old saying we want what we don't have or in this case don't want what we have rings true. I've thought about it. I obviously will keep the roof rails. Just cruising around the inter web thingy I thought the car looks great without the roof rails. As it turns out it look great with them too!. Thanks all!

Only for the sport model, the roof rail does not fit. I'm also thinking of removing the rail. If someone could already do it, please tell us how the process was
