Which charging strength - 50% or 100%?

The E-tron shows 8.8kw charge rate but my Juicebox EVSE shows 9.5kw power draw.

Hey @R3Wood I was re reading a few old threads and saw this again (it is a snow day) and it made me think. You are pulling 8.8kW? What is the input to the EVSE (your Audi compact charging system)? 240V or 208V? I am just trying to figure out why yo are missing 1.1 kW, potentially, of charging power (not a big deal...but you probably paid money to have the outlet installed.) Do you know the details of the circuit you had installed? The amperage? If it was 240V and you had a 50 amp circuit installed your battery should be charging at 9.9 kW.
In my head, I am thinking that in order to be at 8.8 kW as stated in your post, you must be using either a 240V at 40 amps or maybe a 208V and 50 amps or even higher. If you are using 208V you are probably using three phase power which means that there are other options to increase your charging power back to 9.9 kW.
Anyway, it is snowing, why not talk about charging minutia this am?
My final throw away for any new etron owner looking at installing a new outlet for their EVSE, if you can, install a 50 amp circuit, but yes, a 40 amp circuit will work just fine. 50 amp just future proofs it a bit as you are already spending the money.

You are correct. I was forgetting two things that account for the loss. The Compact Charger limits at 40 amps and a 50 amp circuit is limited to 40 amps.

Mine charges at 7.6 kW consistently. I use the Audi-supplied unit primarily and have a 40A Mustart for backup. The speed rarely varies either way for more than a moment, although in rare cases it will sustain 7.7 for a while.
I've always assumed it all comes down to the wiring, and mine has a long run.
