Black Optic with 20 wheels for 2024?
My 21 has the Black Optic package with 20 wheels, But it seems like the 24 Black Optic package comes only with 21 wheels. I definitely prefer the ride/range of the smaller wheel over bigger wheels, so short of custom ordering, is it possible to get Black Optic with a 20 inch wheel in a 24?

No idea but I can confirm the range on the 20" wheel is noticable vs the 21" wheels.
Ride quality is about the same, maybe slightly harsher on the 21" over pot holes. Tires are also about $100 each more expensive than the 20".

I like your outside-the-box thinking, but the 21 is leased so swapping is probably not an option. And of course, they are a bit scuffed up. Maybe the dealer would be willing to swap out 21s for 20s, seeing as how most people prefer the 21s and larger.

I ran into the same thing - even custom ordering you can't get around that. It's not just the range/ride with the 21"; your tire selection is much more limited and much more expensive than on the 20". I ended up just not getting the package. My dealer was willing to contact other people who had ordered a Q8 without the BO package and see if they wanted to swap when both cars were in, and/or talk with management to see if they would be willing to swap the 20" from a lot-build car for the 21" - but I never asked them to do either since I wasn't that tied to it anyway.

The window stickers on Q8 e-tron SUVs with both standard 20 and optional 21 Aero or Rotor designs show 285 miles of range. Maybe the window stickers are not corrected for reduced range with 21 wheels but perhaps there is not much difference, especially if the tire widths are the same.

The 21" kill about 15 miles of range. 255/50 vs a 265/45.
The 21" on the 2022 black optic is a 32 pound forged wheel with an additional 36 pounds of tire on it.
Haven't yet had a chance to weigh a 2021 20" cast black optic wheel.
The 20" wheel feels way sportier too. Less mass to get spun up.

Same is true for the older pre Q8.

If you just want 20" black wheels and don't mind spending, I got the winter wheel/tire package and at least in Colorado (I'm guessing the entire US) it comes with the 20" black "Lamina" wheels. No idea how much just the wheels hit range though since I can't de-convolute the impact of the wheels vs. the winter tires vs. the cold temps.
