Default Does it say in your book that the TB has to be replaced at 105k?

If so I'd say that audi is responsible for an early TB failure and you should contact AoA.

Default I seriously doubt it could be that bad! Sounds like dealer padding to me.

You could give me a call and discuss some options.

Default Yes 105k. I did contact AoA

Since the book was in my car, I called them and asked them for the recommended mileage to change the timing belt. It was told 105k for the car I have. They have filed a case for me. I should have an answer by Thursday. If this does not work. I will pursue further action.

Default I hope it works, but..

from what you said, the belt did not fail, it skipped a tooth. Could it be another part? Tensioner, pulley? Hmmm.

This is what the dealer is saying. Could be that a tooth was missing. From what I read about timing belts, they fail because some of the teeth get used or broken off, or the belt elongates, or the belt jumps in some cases

Default If it were me..

I'd tell the dealer.. the guy who speaks to AoA the following..

I'd like to get the ar fixed here, but seriously I can't handle this kind of cost. If you can convince AoA that it was the TB itself that failed, then, the job is yours.

If AoA won't agree, I'll have to take the car out and find a salvage engine or something.

Can you help me?
