Default what tires for the AR

Live in nor-cal. Drive in winter conditions quite a bit during the season. Want something that will last and rides quiet.
Any reccomendations would be helpful.
Thanks in advance, Dino

This is where I would start to answer that question..... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...jsp?type=UHPAS
They have other category ratings for less demanding driving.
I run Bridgestone RE960's year round (245/45/18), they are in great shape after 20K.
