Default Warm up noise

Hi,

I have a 2001 allroad. Lately, when the car is started cold, the warm up stage generate a lot of high pitch noise. It seems to be coming from somewhere between the engine and the cabin wall. Once the car is warmed and rpm starts to go down, the noise goes away, and the engine idles very quietly.

Can anyone give me a hint of what to look for or replace?

Thanks

My car does that too but I thought it is the car's 'smart' way to warm up faster

Default that is the secondary air injection pump- SAI. They usually make noise

exactly as you stated. Min'e been like this for years. You can buy them from ECS tuning for less than 300.00 and DIY the repair.
