These forums have saved a first time AR owner. Thank you ALL
Just purchased on Monday a 2003 AR with 57k. Didn't come with the owners manual but almost everything in the car is quick to figure out. These forums answered every single question I've had over the last week:
Q: Why is the spare flat and how do I pump it up if I need it?
A: Saves space and weight and the car was supposed to have come with an air compressor (still can't find so I'll replace, with a pump from my "local farm store")
Q: What are the buttons "M 1 2 3 STOP!" on the inside of the driver's door for?
A: They remember where I had everything set so that I restore it after my Dad/Brother/GF/Graduate classmates change them (everyone wants to drive my new car)
Q: How do I turn on the back wiper? (A lot harder to guess if you don't have the manual or never driven a car with a back wiper before)
A: Push the lever away from you.
There is still one question that I couldn't answer by STFA and I can't RTM until it arrives from bentley press next week.
Q: If I leave my headlights "ON", and then use the key fob to lock the car, my headlights turn off and will turn back on the next time I start my car. BUT the daytime running lights stay on the entire time. Is there a way to have all the lights turn off (the way the headlights do) when I press the lock button?
Thank you again for all of your devotion to your cars, it makes being a first time owner a lot less frustrating than it could have been.

Welcome to the board...I had to laugh at my "farm store" quote...and my guess is that you
are in Canada with the DRL as we don't have those here unless we mod...I had to get used to turning lights on/off after driving American vehicles for a long time. Those Germans think we should think for ourselves I guess Again welcome and glad you did your "homework" on the allroad.

I think he was referring to the parking lights... not DRL...
If you leave your headlights on and turn off the ignition, the parking lights remain lit... I think he was asking how to turn these off.
I'm not sure this can be easily be changed.
