Default Sunoco 104 Unleaded

Have enjoyed adding a little 104 Octane unleaded race fuel to give the car some boost, usually about 1.5 gallons per tankful. It's expensive at about $9.50/gal but it's amazing how much boost you can get when you are already running 94 octane Shell. Anyone else tried using this?

where do they still have 94? Sunoco was the last hold out in the states and they stopped in 2006-07.

At least on the east coast we have 93 everywhere.

There is a Shell station on Hwy 90 in S.Louisiana that has 94 octane. The Sunoco 104 Unleaded is only available if you buy it in 5 gallon increments from a local auto parts store in Harahan, LA. Unfortunately, it does have up to 10% ethanol in it, as does the Shell 94 octane. The only gasoline around here that is ethanol free is Conoco which is 93 octane. I have got conflicting stories on whether the ethanol hurts our cars or not. I'm not happy about it but it looks like the government is forcing this on all suppliers.

10% Ethanol will not hurt our rides as the entire US is 10% Ethanol in the non summer months.

We have 104 race gas in a few places as well. One is direct at the pump, no minimum.

E85 is 105 octane and around 2 bucks a gallon. Add 3-4 gallons to regular gas to make cheap premium.

Check with a call first. I haven't been there for years.
