Shifter moves while driving...
I have a manual allroad and while the car is in gear and you begin to drive, the shifter doesn't stay still like it should it almost vibrates back and forth. It doesn't come out of gear, but I know this isn't normal. I talked to a audi mechanic friend and he thinks it has to do with a rubber plate that sometimes cracks within the clutch. I was hoping that there may be more insight into this issue or a way to fix it. Thanks.

My 6mt did that when I first acquired it. Shaking became more pronounced under acceleration. New front axles from Raxles took the vibration away and most of the wobble. A DTS bar took care of the rest.
You may need transmission and engine mounts.

Im very interested in hearing what the issue is if you get it resolved. My 01 6spd has the same wobble in the shifter. It also tends to clank when I shift it, sounding somewhat like a loose bolt or connection to the transmission, could be related.

Nah, disagree with that.
Yeah they really shouldn't have that much slop. Common issues, besides the front axles, are the center support bearing. 034 motorsports now carries a stock bearing for the ar. Dealer wants you to buy the full driveshaft between the from and rear diff's. Which is big $$. Search and you will find.
