Default Really annoying factory alarm, can I disable it?

Found a few things by searching for "alarm", but nothing related to my gripe:

This has happened a few times now: I un-lock the car, get in, and sit there a few minutes while I screw around with my phone, radio, etc, then the doorlocks shut, and I start the car in a panic because I KNOW the alarm is about to go off. With the engine running, the alarm STILL goes off, and I can't shut it off unless I shut the car off and hit the "unlock" button on the fob.

WTF??!! I HATE having to have to pay so close attention to the locking/unlocking/starting protocol JUST to avoid the alarm going off.

dont know of a permanent way to disable it but there should be a button on the b-pillar by the hatch button that turns it off till you open the door next time

So you're talking about the interior motion sensor?

I think I get it...I need to hit that button as I get in the car if I intend to just sit there a bit. I'll try it.

Sounds to me like maybe your door trigger is not working right? The alarm re-arms automatically if you don't open any door... which might mean that it doesn't see you opening the door.

Do you get "door open" on cluster when you open your door while engine is running? If not, you need to replace trigger which is unfortunately a part of lock mechanism = $$$
