Any suggestion for replacement stock radio, looking to update with a flat screen that will still work with steering wheel controls

I'm not totally up on all of the audio upgrades but one that seems to pop up frequently is updating to the RNS-E radio that was available in 2005 and later. Search for that and you should be able to find a good amount of info. Here's a before and after I found on Google.

Check with your local car radio shop,my local guy says you can have standard DIN size and a shelf or a double DIN ,flat screen,he sold clarion and pioneer, both would work with the steering wheel and the bose system, just need some adapters,easy..

I purchased a Chinese all in one 7" DVD GPS unit. Has every feature you can imagine including digital TV. It's designed as a drop in replacement for the C5 A6/Allroad. Simply pull the old unit out and put the new unit in. All the wiring and fascia/bezel is taken care of. Even the controls on the steering wheels work (if your car came with it). Got mine for for under $500 (including digital tv tuner and reverse camera). It's surprisingly good given it's a cheap Chinese unit.

I agree. RNS-E is absolutely the best way to go. But you're looking at over $1200. The Chinese $500 unit seems like an intriguing alternative. It also runs Android if I'm not mistaken. Touch screen is quite fantastic once you have a touch screen phone.

PS. Zawa will get you the best price for OEM components.
