Can anyone one tell me posotive stories about the allroad ownership
Before I buy , also considered the Rangerover p38 but the audi is more modern, plus I cant find any comparisons on line.

My wife and I love ours. Yes, it is a little needy some times but it has taken us on some amazing trips, hauled all our gear, and been a great cruiser. My only real beef is that the gas mileage kind of sucks but other than that the allroad is great.

Every so often I take a look at the car market to see if there is another car that ticks all the boxes like the allroad does. I'm not an SUV fan but want something that can handle the mountains, camping, snow, etc and is comfortable. The Outback is close but they are EVERYWHERE around here and not as comfortable as the Audi. The Volvo XC70 is also another candidate but just lacks . . . something.

Here are some pictures of where our allroad has taken us. I consider these all positive.

I bought mine with quite a long repair list (at much lower price than average) and this all resulted in exhaustive renovation with some difficulties, due to previous owners... . Despite, which is repaired with oem part, that is repaired and becomes perfect... So, the Allroad brings my family to a number of destinations with high comfort and - in line with the renovation (renewed bags, compressor, engine sealings, hoses.., turbo sealings and -shafts) - in an increasingly confident manner. I love this car and could not change to anything similar on the market since it delivers very versatile capabilities and "feeling". MPG with the "new" turbos at highways + outskirts mix around 23,6 mpg and 20 mpg as total (incl 45% cities with jams) With Tiptronic and MTM chip.

Unless you're a decent home mechanic (or money is no object), don't buy either vehicle...the Allroad is needy with small and medium repairs, MUCH more so than my A8.

Positive: Fun to drive (sport truck feel) and I can crawl under it (just, for inspection) on suspension setting #4, without a jack

I have owned or driven BMW 325XIT, Subaru, Volvo XC70T6 (still have it) and BMW X3 6sp manual.
The allroad is the only car that drives/feels/performs the way it does. Will it most likely cost something to maintain, sure (although mine, knock wood, hasn't been any worse than any other car I've owned).
I don't think there is another car out there that offers the combination of versatility, driving experience and all-weather performance.
Mine is a 2004 with a 6 speed.
I say get one if you can.

Default positive feedback

I have owned 2x Lexus ls 400s , still have one , BMW 525 and 740i , Rangerover p38 it was in bad shape .
2x Subaru l egacy 2.5 autos , still have one , 1x merc E class using daily.
So in want space , comfortable , four wheel drive and a bit of luxury plus at 6ft 6 to be able to stretch the old legs.
Thanks for all the replies I will have a go at fixing and serviceing most things myself plus have a indi Audi /merc Garage nearby.
