Default PaulRoad, if you're still out there

Got a question for you about the TC. I have a 2002 Allroad 2.7. The car is tip top, just had the timing belt changed at 101K. I got a code that said the TC was sticking intermettently. My audi guy says he sees it all the time on A6's. My car has always shifted good, and I haven't experienced a problem. Could it be something else ?

As always, thank you for your help.

Default I'd say get it fixed before the transmission says goodbye. You can get a new TC for <600 online.

Hopefully you know a good indy who wont nail you on the labor.

Default You could start experiencing harder shifts into reverse; in that case have the trans fluid

checked with the appropriate Audi/VW tools, which includes the proper environmental temperature and the correct trans fluid temp.

Some claim that the trans fluid is forever so maintenance free, and that's just not correct. Mechanical wear and tear on any transmission relies on good molecular structure of the supporting oil, so it's always worth to check on that.

The best way to tell if a transmission goes sour is parking it slightly uphill and then engage D or R, a metallic "clunk" could be a good indicator that things are not in good shape, that's the way my tip transmission went into nirvana........just some thoughts.....

Default If you plan to keep the allroad for some time then perhaps it is worth to consider the upgrade

I plan on keeping until the end of the year. I put on ~16K annually. Maybe a little less.
Gonna try the power flush first.
Thanks for you help guys, you saved me alot of time, its very much appreciated.

Default A. Why are you getting rid of it? B. It's a matter of risk management at this point.

If you don't mind pulling over and getting towed WHEN it does fail the it's no biggie. The labor to remove the trannie is where the cost is.
