Oh, the horror...look away, a Unicorn is on life-support.

Well, the bagpipes are warming up. The unicorn flatlined about 1 hour ago.
If anyone in the Seattle area (or nearby) wants a great 6-speed tranny, let me know. I need to decide on the buyback soon and I really don't want it sitting in my driveway...
She was a great car and deserved a better fate.

Maybe it cn be saved.
In march my daughter smacked up her '01 B5 A4. The repair was $5600. The insurance company paid and it was fixed.
Another option is have the insurance company estimate it and if they say it's a total, simply tell them that you are not making a claim. Arrange for the body shop to fix it and pay for it. End of story. No worries about a salvage title because you never made the claim so it was never totaled.
I did this with my son's (hand-me-down) '83 4kS a long time ago. The repair cost was $2700 and the car was only worth $3500. The car went on to live a long and happy life for several more years and eventually was retired with 280k on the clock. The only thing wrong with it was it needed a new head gasket which would cost about $800 which what the car was worth. So we donated it.

Accepting offers on the following removable items:
* cargo tonneau cover
* cargo net
* pet divider
* OEM cargo tray
* OEM all-weather (rubber) mats
I would be offering the RS6 taillights but methings they would notice them missing. BTW, someone asked about what they look like. Check them out here. Basically they appear solid red until the indicator is turned on, then they flash orange.
