Default Noobs..tune in....

wouldn't you know it you know it.. just pick up the ar from a tune up at m Ind Ttyrol Motor Sport...

plugs, oil sensor, oil change, etc. I travel 35 miles, get about 1 minute from home and...FLASHING CEL... ngine is rough...feels like a coil pack again. (common malady)

use my VAG-Com Cable it in the morning and sure enough Cyl 1. Misfire. I'm also thinking..new tune up.. new plugs.. perhaps its a loose plug or the Coil Pack (CP) is not pushed down or the Wire didn't click etc. But.. I knew that I still had two original CPs left in the engine..the other four have been replaced.

Off to Anchor Audi to pick up my wife's Cab at service. I meet the parts guy, and tell him I need 1, but I'll buy two if he can match Riverside's online price. He did better, he gave them to me for 31.00 each.

I get home open the hood and Cyl 1 is an original CP. (the VAG Code Cyl) I pull it.. check the new spark plug just in case..and it was fine.

Pop in BOTH CPs, button it up and ..VROOM.. all is well.

My point for all NOOBs here..

-Carry spare coil packs.

-Invest in a VAG -COM Cable. It will save you a lot of stress, alot of $$ going to a dealer to diagnose some things and CP's are the easiest DIY under the hood.

-Dealers will make deals in the parts and service department. You don't always have to pay what they ask, everything is negotiable.

Default I'll soon sell my VAG-COM KEY-USB cable as I'll need only CAN soon. On dealers negotiating, that's

exactly right to try. There's a mismanaged parts department here that does not get it, even pricing items at more than suggested list. I drive 15 miles one way to buy locally for the right cost (when I don't or can't order from Craig at genuineaudiparts.com, that is).

Default Dibs on the cable, (maybe) if it does scan CAN...

I am assuming it does not, otherwise you would just use/keep it. Correct?

Right. I'll need a CAN cable myself for the A3. It's KEY-USB, good for C5, as described.

You have Y! mail if you're parting with your cable.
