Need Tire Advice
I need some tire advice. I got a relatively worn set of Michelins on my 05 2.7T automatic. Just moved to the New England from North Carolina and I'm looking for a good set of all season tires for my AR. Actually, the car is my wife's and I want tires that are good all around for most driving situations. I've heard Yokohama AVID W4S tires are good and also heard that Nokian WR's are too. Thanks.

I'm currently riding on Michelin MXV4 and they work just fine year round. They're quiet too. I don't think they corner all that well though, but you wouldn't notice unless you're pushing the car to 7/10s.

I've never been 100% happy without separate summer/winter tires, but the closest I ever came for a do-it-all tire is the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. Not cheap, but best never is, right?

I ran Nokian WRs for about 30k miles, they were pretty good on the dry, absolutely fantastic in the snow. I am from the NE area and spent a decent amount of time up north in the winter, and the tires were great. I have Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grids on there now, like them better than the Nokians on the dry, haven't seen snow yet...

No doubt the Nokians are a far superior winter tire compared to the Pilot alpin A/S I mentioned, but what about summer/dry road feel? For an Allroad guy with a 6 spd and H-sports, would they disapoint in the summer twisties?
I'm noticing the OP said good all-around tire for his wife's car; those Nokian WRs do sound ideal.

dont get yokohama yk520. while they supposedly have a long life warranty(60k), they dont seem to be lasting very well, they are absolute **** for autocross(and even for just spirited driving), and while they are m&s rated I wouldnt trust them in the snow.
truely "no-season" tires.

I'm running Nokian WR G2s...
best tire on the market (for a winter specific all season) hands down, love them, I have 22K on them and they still look brand new (which is unheard of on the AR for any tire, but Nokians wear phenomenal), they handle like a dream and are unstopable in the snow on the AR, I have not one complaint with this tire. I wouldn't even consider anything else if I ever have to replace them (don't know how long I'll keep the car CPO is done in June). This is my third set of Nokians I've owned (previously the original WR's and the previous gen. NRWs, on other cars) the G2's have built upon those two great tires by adding much better performance on dry clear roads and in warm weather in comparison.
