Need Help FIxing WIndow...
Hello All,
I've got a 2001 AR Tip;
My rear- driver's side window stopped working- luckily in the up position.
Wouldn't work with the key in the door either. No hum from the motor - so I bought
a used one...
Put it in but still not working. ( There is power getting to the well light and the ashtray light)
Tried it with the door switch from the other side- still no.
So...what's my next step?
Is it possible that it's the drivers' master switch? Would that override the rear doors' switch and the key
in the door?
Ideas? Tips?
Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the wires in the "accordion boot" in the door jam? My wife's A6 had similar symptoms with the same door.(also, in my case the dome light would not power up when this door was opened) Power lock still functioned as intended. Turned out a large ground wire in the door jam was completely severed, apparently due to bending stress. 10 minute fix. Pull both sides of the boot loose, and take the foam packing out to get a good look at all the wires.

THANKS!!
Hey Teutonix... and also Jason-
Thanks for the reply and suggestions-
you were right on the nose with the boot suggestion-
I had already looked- but this time I followed each wire and
there it was- a wire severed right at the joint- so it was difficult
to spot. (The thick red w/ black stripe).
I almost cried with delight!
Thanks again!!
