Default And i thought my ar was fairly healthy . . .

a fellow enthusiast was kind enough to stop over with his vagcom to do a full scan, lots of misc codes (will post those below) but nothing major.

so after taking the cover off the fuel pump relay, and plugging it in, i verified that the relay is working; the fuel pump isn't.

oem replacement is stupid expensive. would there be any harm in putting in a walbro pump instead? thoughts?

also here are the codes that we pulled

I would say go for it. I don't think the oem fuel pump would be that much better.

Code-wise, looks normal for a car that hasn't been scanned in a while. Some of these codes might have been there for a long time. As long as the codes don't set again right away after they're cleared, probably nothing to worry about.

FWIW, RockAuto shows an Airtex for $175 and a Python brand for $94 + exchange, in addition to the $350 Bosch and the $540 Bosch (whatever the difference is there. ??)

it was.
the only way to fix it is to replace the module with the same exact p/n that is in your car.
there is a writeup on doing that, i think it is in the tech articles on this forum

There is a way better option for the pump. VDO is the OEM supplier, it has the OEM number on the item.
Costs around 240 usd on ebay and you can forget it for another 14 years.

240 usd for 14 years, an investment that is not too expensive. I find on the obd2land a few scanners, how to select a quality scanner?

The OBD channel itself is not appropriate to set or monitor a lot of things. You cannot set service period, unable to detect tranny issues, etc. Ross-tech or VCDS is the all-in-one solution.

This is what you need to actually work on your Audi and do all the required things to self troubleshoot: Ross-Tech Store: VCDS License with HEX-USB+CAN Unlimted VIN (All VAG)
