Default HOTTT DAMNNIT...can't get my radio out...

OK, I have the 4 radio removal tools in my Symphony I & this SOB mother fricken bitcharse radio will NOT budge. I have tried different ways of putting the keys in (they only go in one way), I have tried wiggling them around, I am pulling my hardest even sticking my fingers in the tape slot to grab it really good & nothing.

Is there anything else I need to do besides stick the radio removal keys in?

Default Nope thats about it...

Try sticking your fingers in the tape deck opening and pulling from there with all 4 removal tools installed.

It can a little hard to remove sometimes...

Good luck!

If someone removed the radio before, they can screw up the metal tabs to the point that the tools don't work right. You just have to keep working at it.

I only have 2 removal tools, and I can get my radio out by doing 1 side at a time. I just push the tools in, pull that side out slightly, then remove tools , and do the other side.

Default urrrrrgh..my won't come out either!!! But...

I did find this clip on youtube that may help you.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSe7CnLmD58

It seems like the tick is to push the tools out, then pull.

I ordered a new set of tools from Crutchfield hoping the ones that I ordered off of a different site were the wrong ones...

Keep me updated if you manage to get yours out and how you did it. My fingers are bleeding and I'm ready to take a sledge hammer to the dash.

I saved my fingers by sticking a Phillips screwdriver into the fingerhole of the radio key, then gave a strong yank. Finally worked.

Well I tried all of the above, even the dealer couldn't get that damn thing out, so now I have to take everything apart around it

is there a write-up somewhere so I don't break any clips or trim pieces?

yikes! i'm sorry to hear this.

although your comment about the dealer not being able to help you pull the radio out really would have me concerned. has the radio been modified or previously removed? why was the dealer unable to remove the radio? Sounds like you might have a serious issue on your hands.

if you want to avoid the trouble, you could always go to a car stereo shop and see if one of their installers could do it? they have more experience in pulling radios than anyone...
