Help! Should I Buy?
Hello All, I'm brand new here. Looking to finally buy an Allroad. I'm really keen on the 05' 4.2, but I also like the new A4 based cars.
Any advice would be awesome!
Thanks

I had an '04 4.2 allroad from 2010-2017. While it was a great car and not as horribly unreliable as people say, they are getting old which means there is a lot of maintenance needed to keep them going. The 4.2 is also a gas hog and I averaged about 15 mpg of mixed driving.
The 2014+ A4 based cars are very reliable and low maintenance in comparison to the C5 A6 allroad, while also getting much better fuel economy and being a bit more fun to drive. They are slightly smaller inside but not enough to be an issue for most people.
I've considered buying a '15 or '16 allroad for my next car, but am leaning toward the BMW 3 series wagon right now as I just want to try something different before going back to the allroad.

I've just loved the 1st Gen Allroad since day one, but I bought an 05 GTO (PONTIAC) instead. It was an amazing vehicle (thank you Holden). Today I'm still in love with that Gen Allroad...A4 based is nice just wish they had offered the 3.0t in it (have you seen the one built by Pacific German in Southern California? AMAZING.
Anyhow, thanks again.
