Default help for new owner

Hi all my first post and I feel really stupid but can anyone tell me where the diagnostic socket is located. Thanks

VAG COM port is under the dash, left side near the hood release

From the headlight switch go straight down just below the dash.

Default Wow Thanks for the quick response, but one more question

wow thanks for the quick response. I have found it now. Just one more thing!! How do i remove the engine cover its a V6 two colour cover and doesnt seem to have any fixings visible, any ideas ? Thanks

Default the engine cover...

...in the center of the engine with the "V6 BiTurbo" are held in by twist pegs that look like a philips screw. Just turn 90 degrees, and they should release. I think there is a clip underneath as well that just releases when you pull up.

The small "pegs" are in the small holes (2 per cover) in the picture below...

That doesnt look like my cover, it is not the Bi Turbo V6 single turbo V6. It is a silver cover with a black centre panel no fixings are visible at all.

Default Sorry...I am not familiar with the engines from that side of the pond!!!

my guess is that there are clips underneath that fasten to hoses/piping, and you just have to lift it up.

Is this your cover???

its similar but does not have the 4 round marks, and someone has tried to lift it up and caused the satrt of a small crack so dont want to pull too hard
