HELP!!
#12
I will be switching from New Country going forward. I haven't been...
unhappy with them, but my last service was very expensive and made me realize that I need a good indy. I have been considering using ICS - Imported Cars of Stamford in Stamford (377 Elm Street). They have a division which does regular maintenance etc, as well as the performance division which is very well known. One of the principals is an Audi enthusiast, Brian Rosenberg, so there is plenty of Audi knowledge there.

Good to know. I'll give them a call. I've been OK with New Country, but even the Audi dealer I bought the car from in Mendham, NJ said that I don't need to remove the engine to replace the mount.

I appreciate your predicament, but appreciate more your resourcefulness. This
is a great and helpful forum. It's nice that you found it and the search tools useful for prior answers. Now, you'll be able to use your own experiences with this and other independent shop repairs to help future posters, too. Good luck on this repair. I'd replace the mount and let those turbos sing until the music ends, and be sure that dealership's service manager knows that you found out that they're so full of it that they basically pushed you out the door for good. A shame, really. Based on my experience with Audi's mid-term reliability, I don't think it needs the dealer body to help it alienate customers!:-)

Mounts take about 1.5 hours if that. Sway bar is dropped and there are 4 bolts from the bottom and
one on top IIRC. Not terribly difficult nor does it even require service mode. Are you even sure that there is a problem to begin with? Do you have vibration or something?
