In-dash cupholder will not stay retracted. Where does it latch?
I pushed it back in but it popped right out again, and will not stay in anymore.
Can't seem to see where in the mechanism it would normally hold it into the dash.
Can someone with a working cupholder point me in the right direction? I'm hoping I can fix it somehow, depending on the failure mode.
TIA.

There's a small tab that breaks off. You may be able to glue something back in.
The simpler alternative is to remove the spring. It still won't latch, but gravity will keep it down when you don't have a cup in it.
Or you can replace the whole thing for about $50.

The latch is in the yellow circle.
You will know how it work when you see it.

Perfect, thanks. How do I remove the unit?
Sorry, but my Bentley manual was installed in my old (now gone) laptop, and I now have Vista which apparently cannot run eBahn. But that is another issue...

Where's the picture?
Same problem, the in-dash cup holder won't stay in the dash. Thought I got to the correct thread and... dead picture link, lol. I've taken my cup holder out and am trying to figure out what keeps it in. Is this picture available elsewhere??? Thanks for the help.

Never mind, I popped the plastic piece off the bottom and see how it's supposed to work. The little piece of plastic that that is supposed to lock in is broken off. Looks like I'll need to find a replacement.

1. No drinking or eating in the car.
2. Squirt a little water in there to soften the sugar. Then take it out and clean it.
3. No drinking or eating in the car; finish it or leave it.
