Default heat not working and losing coolant

I cant get my heat to switch on it will only blow warmer or cold air. I can get the heat to work when I do active tests but other then that there is no heat. Also I keep losing coolant somewhere not sure where it is going. I've checked for leaks and sucked the whole system down to get any air out and i'm still losing coolant.
Can Anyone please help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Two guesses, air in the coolant system, or a clogged heat exchanger. In your case check if the coolant leak does not come from there. (the heat exchanger Located at the highest point in the cooling system)

I sucked the system down then replaced all the coolant so I dont know if air is somehow getting into the system but I also checked for leaks and there where none.

Bleeder valve near the front of the engine. I think it's like a M8 socket screw head. Warm car, open bleeder slightly until it runs out and then close off. It's hidden so difficult to locate until you've done it once.

Hello,

Air in the coolant system or a blocked heat exchanger are two possibilities. Check whether the coolant leak isn't coming from there in your situation. (at the highest point in the cooling system, the heat exchanger)
