Driver's windows will not go up.
2001 allroad.
I heard a loud noise while rolling up the driver's window, and afterwards, it does not go up. unfortunately, I was not wise enough to refrain from rolling it down. It does go down, and it went all the way down.
Now I just want to push it up to close position and disconnect the motor and drive it like that.
I tried to pry open the bottom of the inner pannel and it seems very difficult. I don't to use any tools for now fearing that I might break something.
Could anyone of show me the way ? What to do at this point ?

Had the same issue once with a Benz (old one), the bang was a rivet breaking at the bottom of the window that attached to a rod which pushed the window up and down with the motor in the tracks. It was an easy fix, redid the rivet, good to go.
I'm not sure on yours, but they are both German and I hope it's an easy fix.
If you can still hear the motor whirring, bet it's a similar issue.
Good luck. Door panel's a couple screws and a lift like the benz I think.

Wonder if you ever consider keeping the insults to yourself? I tried to give a reasonable suggestion since nobody else tried to help and it looks like I was pretty close to correct on the panel removal. I told him I wasn't sure and you hadn't appeared on the scene yet with your information.
Do these forums insist that folks abandon their manners?
Do you have any suggestion as to what happened, you seem to know a lot about the manual.

Well, the cd softwear is as low as $15 on ebay. Not Bentley, but same info on a different format. I have both because Bentley made it hard to install on the 3rd computer(second one crapped out, and laptop is having issues and can't always use it. Not to mention I also have the Bentley paper(favorite to use but not as much info as cd).
Bottom line, I agree with silverd2, and I'm as cheap as it gets when it comes to fixing my cars They only go to the shop for new tires

I removed the two screws and lifted the panel, then i put two plastic bottles at the bottom to prevent the glass from going all the way down, this way in case I press the down button by accident I could still lift up the glass with my hands on each side.
