Did a little front grill mod. Wanted to share....
Wanted to have a front grill with mesh that matched the lower fog mesh, so I got the lower mesh duplicated via software and sent it off to get 3D printed. I got it back and began the assembly. Here are the fully assembled pics...Not perfect, but good enough for me for now. I dipped the rings anthracite, but when I get it on the car, I can peel it right off if I dont like the way it looks and go back to the chrome. Once I get some free time, I will post a DIY, but it is a lot of slow work in cutting out the original A6 grill slats, plastic welding in the holes that left in the frame using a solder gun, then filling, sanding, gluing and more sanding...then paint. A lot more pics and steps can be seen here:

Well... I'm mostly on the other forum, ahem, so I've seen the grill project there and followed it. I still think it's the best looking grille for the Allroad. I bought a used Kamei RS6 style grille for the A6, but not sure I will end up installing it. It has the Audi rings, but still feels hollow.

Appreciate it bud. You can always throw one of these together. I am working on a good a6 grill price and hatch combo from audis4parts and then same with the mesh prints. The rest is just glue, sandpaper, paint and patience

Good news and bad news.....Good news is that the grill fits and looks good as you can see in the first pic...bad news is that the material I had it printed out of doesnt have the thermal properties to handle the 2.7T's heat and it becomes mis-shaped which is bad. So the second pic is the grill as it currently sits. Ripped out the mesh and tomorrow I am ordering some ABS printed mesh that has thermal stability up to 210 degrees. Hope that works as I just cant give up on this project now!!

Nope. The RS4 grille has smaller diamonds. This is printed on a 3D printer. The size of the diamonds matches the lower grille by the foglights on the Allroad.
