Default Crankcase breather / Valley Pan removal

Given the state of my breather hose, I would like to check/cleanup the crankcase breather assembly (under the intake manifold). A quick question for those that have done this. Will I actually be able to get the crankcase breather and valley pan out without removing the engine? I assume that I'll need to completely remove the intake manifold and the aux water pump.
