couple questions regarding Arnott air spring replacement
#23
Its not only a matter of rust, the pinch bolt can deform when over torgued, hence the term "pinch" ,
its used to clamp the two control arms, and in that process can actually bend, thus making it incredibly difficult to extract. Depends entirely on the amount of torgue that was applied when it was installed!
Removing a seized pinch bolt usually involves damaging both control arms!
But whatever helps you get thru the night!

Well, I got her done... Thanks for all your help.
I am all proud of myself now!! ;-) saved myself $250 or so.
Pinch bolt came out fairly easy after I drove a screwdriver under the head of it so it pulled itself out.
Put the old one back in, didn't realize I should replace it.
more difficult was to get the ball joints out of the spindle. prying the pinch part of the spindle open and hammering the ball joints out did the job.
Then I didn't have the right 12 point torx, but my Buddy came over and had one, he also had some Krytox for the upper O-ring - Yay
Then I didn't have a proper wrench to hold the nut while losening the shock from the upper mount, but luckily I ordered a new mount so I cut the old one up...
After that, just putting everyhing back together. At first it looked like it wouldn't level, but then after a little bit of driving it levelled itselt.
Thanks again guys!!!
