Default burning oil smell after shutdown - new problem at 95k

A burning oil smell is coming from my engine bay when stopped at a light for a while or in the garage after shutting down. Cam adjuster seals were changed at 70k with the TB but this problem just started at 95k miles. could it be the cam adjuster seals again?

Any ideas from the group? My aftermarket warranty expires in a few months so looking to get in any last items as well. Thanks in advance.

Default Well......

..if auto, it's probably a leaking transmission output flange.

Default could be, my understanding is that they leak because the crankcase ventilation system gets clogged

on the 2.8 it usually is the suction pump. I believe the 2.7 has a similar device under the intake manifold in the valley but I haven't had first hand experience with it....yet.

Default Re: oil return line leak

I recently saw the same thing on mine. I tightened the drivers side turbo oil return line and it seems better.

Has anyone tried to replace the gasket for this?

Mine just started doing this as well (83K). Need to crawl under it this weekend.

Default Good point....

Although it's not in the valley, it's behind the IM next to/near the secondary air pump. Also, not every 2.7T has one.

Worth a look though, especially if it recently got cold there. They tend to plug in cold temperatures.

Default I have experienced this as well, are there...

telltale signs to look for regarding the suggestions so far (oil return line, cam adjuster seals, transmission output flange)?

Default 6MT. Thanks, anyone have a pic or diagram of location? it did just get cold here.

Hoping this is an easy fix to just clear the line
