For the first few minutes or so when I get going in my AR in the morning the brakes squell (spelling?) when depressed. I assume this is due to the snowy/wet roads causing the roters to get a quick layer of rust on over night? But wanted to confirm that this isn't anything major or something that can be prevented.

Ceramic pads have that tendency, otherwise you have issues. Like you need new shoes.
