Battery Light Flickers Upon Hard Acceleration
Exactly has the title says. When I put the accelerator down a little bit more than usual, my inside battery warning light flickers until I let off the gas.
I've asked around and found it could be that my alternator is about to go, or I may just need a new serpentine belt? What are your guys' thoughts on this?
Secondly, where id the alternator?? Sounds dumb but I've searched throughout the engine bay and can't find it. Even had a friend who's my mechanic check it out and he couldn't find it on first glance either.
I have no problems with voltage from the battery as it was recently replaced and I checked it, still perfectly fine.
Thanks in advance.

I think you're on the right track but I would lean more towards the belt slipping since it only happens on acceleration.
Here's a pic of an S4 4.2 as I think it's pretty close to the allroad 4.2. You can see the alternator on the bottom left of the engine.
