Default AudiCare and the infamous 75,000-mile service

For those of you with an Audi Care Service Plan (55000, 65000 and 75000-mile pre-paid service) and with a 2004-2005 allroad 2.7T, be aware that the 75000-mile maintenance interval calls for the replacement of the timing belt and ribbed belt (among other things). This doesn't apply to 2001-2003 models, where the TB replacement interval is specified as being 105,000 miles.

In case your dealer is giving you the proverbial "runaround" about those two expensive items not being covered under the plan, feel free to contact me. In my case both AoA and one of the Audi dealers in my area told me specifically that TB and ribbed belt weren't covered as they were just "preventative" items (whatever! Isn't that what maintenance is? ... and wanted to charge me a hefty $2200+ for their replacement). It turned out to be a spectacular debacle on Audi's part both in customer service and contractual obligations.

At any rate, a court case between Audi and me has just been settled whereby the coverage of all needed items was agreed to be included in the plan. If you find yourself in the same situation, feel free to contact me so that I can share all the necessary specifics.

Default I'm getting the runaround...

Just put my car in for the 75K service. They tell me the belt's the only thing covered - none of the peripherals (tensioner, etc), and I'll need a water pump, etc. I'm OK with doing the preventive pump stuff, but the idea that the belt's the ONLY thing covered by Audi Care seems bizarre... so I'll appreciate any insight! Thx.

i have a 03 2.7 turbo, tip. 90k miles. Timing belt replacement is not till 105k? I was told it should be replaced at 90k and even sooner since i am at high altitude, because the air is so dry.
any thoughts?

Apparently 105k was the original factory interval until the 2.7's started dropping like flies around 80-90k. Not sure if it was officially revised but most folks are doing it around 75k to be safe.
