2.7T downpipe heat shields install

I took the downpipes off again, but even then couldn't figure out how to get the heat shields back installed.
Can someone provide pointers, tips, how to?
- with DP off, shove heatshield up from bottom, then DP?
- DP on first, then heatshield from bottom?
- or get heatshield in from the top of engine?
