Default Anyone added a Bazooka powered sub tube to their Bose sys?

My CPO 2004 allroad 4.2 came with Bose premium sound. I like the highs and mid well enough but the bass only seems adequate for pop music. It's loud and punchy down to a certain frequency, then it disappears.
I listen to all kinds of music, including classical and jazz, and would like to improve the low end without rebuilding the entire system.
My installer is recommending adding a Bazooka BTA 8200 powered sub tube (200 watts, 8 inch driver). I read the tech post so I know we'll be able to run it off the Bose system, but I'm wondering whether anyone who has added a Bazooka tube to a system like mine can comment on the results.
Thanks.

Default Re: On all the '04 radios??

The Bose is just VAG setting for the headunit plus some extra amplification and sub.

So yes on all '04's the hidden EQ setting is not present.

Default Guess what? I don't think it's BOSE, it's XM Satellite Radio...

...that's to blame for the weak bass. When I listen to CDs or an iPod through cassette adapter the bass is superb. XM must compress the signal a lot and/or cut off the bottom end for digital transmission.
Canceled the Bazooka installation, charged my iPod and popped a couple CDs in. It's all good!

BTW: My system does not have the hidden EQ, but the standard EQ works quite well.

Quick Reply: Anyone added a Bazooka powered sub tube to their Bose sys?
